The talented Venezuelan singer Scarlett Linares has been awarded the Tocando la Fama award as the “Most Outstanding Creole Singer of the Year”, a recognition that underlines her notable contribution to llanero music and her impact on the Venezuelan artistic field. This award is granted by the Tocando La Fama Foundation, an organization with a noble mission to support children with cancer in Venezuela, and which this year celebrates a new edition of its prestigious gala.
In a year marked by the global challenges of the pandemic, the awards ceremony was adapted to the circumstances, taking place virtually from the city of Medellín, Colombia, where the founder of the foundation, Christian Lisboa, is located. On December 15, through a live broadcast on the award’s Instagram account @F_tocandolafama, the winners of the 2020 edition were announced.
The Tocando La Fama Foundation, created on April 26, 2013, has been dedicated to providing a helping hand to children fighting cancer in Venezuela, combining its social work with the recognition of outstanding talents in various areas of entertainment, culture, and society. This year, the virtual gala included an impressive list of nominees in several categories, including great figures such as Oscar D’León, Maite Delgado, Mirla Castellanos, and J Balvin.
