Today we’d like to introduce you to Leo Dasilva.
It’s an honor to highlight your success on our platform. Do you mind telling us about the things you’ve been able to accomplish?
I have been building my private equity firm for over 3 years now and with how difficult it is for companies to get proper access to legitimate funding in Africa, I have decided to sign proper international partnerships that make us the middle men. What we offer is the ability to do the background checks on behalf of international funders and also help properly facilitate a system of trench funding to companies who will be getting those investments. My main goal is helping people access the proper funding for their dreams with the right structure which protects everyone. The future of Nigeria and Africa can be accelerated by private equity partnerships and funding. I have also been able to influence for major brands like Arsenal via Sportbet.io, LG West Africa, PZ Cussons, SkillShare USA and UN Women. I received a commendation from the UN Women on their heforshe campaign and also an SDG Ambassadorial award from the UN-IPC. The journey has just begun and I am sincerely working hard to build more capacity.
Tell us about some of the memories you’ve made on your journey!
Working on several projects simultaneously with companies from various parts of the world has been my highlight so far. I remember a hospitality project in Ghana that I worked on facilitating investment for, even during the peak of the covid pandemic, it was obvious that it was still going to be a huge deal for the future. It was too beautiful to ignore.
Do you have any final thoughts you would like to share with our audience?
Race has been a major issue in my international business growth, let a lone being a Nigerian living in Nigeria facilitating huge financial transactions but I would like to say that my country has over a 100million people and the amount of honest hard workers like myself are way more than the dishonest ones. What we have is a narrative problem, a narrative problem fueled by a blatant disregard for hard work and pr for anything but. There is no investing in Africa if it does not also involve the most populous black Nation on earth.
