Carlos Alberto Ramírez Rea is Venezuelan, born in La Guaira, Vargas State; and for about 22 years, he stands out as one of the best Chief Engineers, ISM Internal Auditor and Container Inspector. The dedication that he has always shown in his work makes him worthy of recognition of excellence, not only in his native country but worldwide.
In his professional career, Ramírez has had the important job of being: second and first Engineer at Consolidated Ferrys; first Engineer and Chief Engineer at PDV Marina; Chief Engineer on General Cargo Ships at Atlas Marine Group, Wartsila; Supervisor of External Machines in a Shipyard; Chief Engineer on board oil and general cargo vessels worldwide; He has experience with MAN B&W engines, just to name a few of the jobs he has carried out over the years and are crucial to ensuring the proper functioning of everything around large vessels.
Not only can he do great individual work, but he is an excellent supervisor and coordinator. In his work at the Shipyard he was responsible for supervising the work of the external machinists involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of ship machinery and equipment. He managed a team of outside machinists, assigning tasks and ensuring work was completed efficiently and on schedule. He also had the responsibility of coordinating with other departments, such as electrical, welding and structural, to ensure integrated completion of the project.
As if that were not enough, Ramírez is capable of planning and executing preventive maintenance of propulsion machinery, making adequate priority planning to achieve the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and reducing unit downtime in accordance with the security policy and procedures established by the company’s national and international regulations.
His education and all the knowledge acquired to be the great professional that he is today, began at the Nautical School of Venezuela in 1992 where he graduated as a Third Degree Engineer and then arrived at the Caribbean Maritime University in 2003 where he first obtained the title of First Engineer and then Chief Engineer M-4-00430.
His work experience has been developed in prominent maritime companies such as: Fugro where he started as a platform mechanic in 2023 and currently continues working with them; Detyens Shipyard where he had the position of External Machinist Supervisor from 2021 to 2023; Safe harbor marinas as a marine mechanic also in 2021. In Madrid, Spain, he has been one of the best inspectors, standing out in companies such as Marflet Marine International, SA, with the position of Technical Superintendent (buyer’s representative) in: take control of MT Nord Pearl (MT Virgen del Cisne) and takeover of MT Nord Integrity (MT Virgen del Quinche).
