Staci Vanzant Is Helping Caregivers Recognize Burnout Before It Takes Over

The People Who Keep Showing Up

Burnout does not always look like someone falling apart.

Sometimes it looks like a therapist who continues seeing clients while running on empty. It can be an educator who remains dependable but has little energy left after work, or a healthcare professional who has become so accustomed to stress that exhaustion feels ordinary.

Staci Vanzant, LCSW, NBC-HWC, knows that pattern well.

As a licensed therapist, board-certified health and wellness coach, and founder of Living Mindfully, LLC, Vanzant has built her work around helping people manage stress and create healthier, more sustainable lives. She is now taking that experience into organizations, conferences, workshops, and retreats, with a particular focus on people whose professions require them to continually care for others.

“Those who spend their lives caring for others often become the last people they care for,” Vanzant says. “My mission is to help the helpers help themselves by making self-care a professional strength rather than a personal luxury. When caregivers are supported, everyone benefits.”

When Exhaustion Becomes Normal

Helping professions come with an unusual challenge. Caring deeply is often considered part of being good at the job.

That commitment can make it harder to recognize when professional dedication has begun consuming too much of a person’s emotional and physical reserves. The work still gets done. Other people still receive care. Meanwhile, the caregiver quietly moves further down their own priority list.

Vanzant wants to interrupt that cycle earlier.

Through Living Mindfully, she provides counseling, coaching, keynote speaking, workshops, and restorative retreat experiences designed to give people practical tools for reducing chronic stress, preventing burnout, and reconnecting with what matters outside their professional responsibilities.

The company recently completed its second retreat and is now accepting reservations for future experiences.

Bringing the Conversation Into the Workplace

Vanzant’s participation in Speakpreneur’s speaker development event coincides with a broader expansion of Living Mindfully into professional speaking and corporate wellness programming.

For organizations, her message raises a useful question: What happens when the people responsible for supporting everyone else have nowhere to put their own stress?

Vanzant’s approach does not ask professionals to care less about their work. Quite the opposite. She wants them to build habits that make it possible to remain present without continually sacrificing themselves in the process.

For caregivers accustomed to placing themselves last, that can require a significant change in thinking. Rest is no longer something reserved for the point of exhaustion. It becomes part of staying well enough to continue doing work that matters.
