The flight of Ramses Seara: A story that inspires

Ramsés Seara is a young Venezuelan pilot. His story is an inspiring testimony of perseverance, passion and struggle. From an early age, Ramses dreamed of taking to the skies. For him, the pilots represented an image of greatness and achievement, although it seemed like a distant dream due to his financial situation. However, he knew since he was a child, from the education his parents provided him, that he could only achieve it thanks to study, dedication, tenacity and, above all, perseverance.
To hear this moving story from his own voice, we wanted to interview him and this is what he told us:
-What inspired you to become a pilot and what was your training process like?
– My inspiration to be a pilot comes from as far back as I can remember, I have always liked the sky, the stars and the afterlife. When I was a child, pilots were an image of incredible people and something unattainable for me. As time went on and I grew older, always with my eye on aviation, I set a plan on how to become a pilot, yet it always seemed impossible due to my economic reality. At 15 years old I decided to come to the United States, alone. That’s when I leave my house in Venezuela, and I come to an uncle’s house. I was still in high school, so I had to enroll in a high school and finish my basic school, which was also a dream for me to complete in the US. When I graduated in 2017, -he continues saying- I started looking for schools. of aviation, since that dream was still within me. So, I found an aviation school at the Hollywood airport and started what is called ground school, then I changed to a school in Fort Lauderdale, where four years later I finished my studies as a commercial pilot.
It was very hard work, since it is an extremely expensive career, and without loans or aid, everything came from my daily job as a waiter and manager of an Italian restaurant.

-What has been the most exciting or memorable moment you have experienced in the air so far?
-The most exciting moment for me was actually when I obtained my commercial pilot license, for me being called a commercial pilot was something of dreams, something impossible and extremely far for me to achieve.

-What are the biggest challenges you have faced as a driver and how have you overcome them?
The challenges that I have had mainly in the beginning were English, I pushed myself in an incredible way to be able to have good English and be able to study, since being fluent in English is one of the main requirements to be able to study. Another challenge was the monetary part, it happened to me a lot that I was going to take a class and I spent everything I did in the week, I had to stop going to classes for a while, even months, to be able to get together again and continue. I only overcame this with a lot of unstoppable work and without letting myself decline, since what I wanted most in life was to be a pilot.
-What advice would you give to someone who is considering pursuing a career in aviation?
My advice to someone who wants to achieve a career of this magnitude is to first be focused and not forget the purpose. Second, put a lot of effort since most of the time, it is in our power to do what we want, what we have to do is execute it.
-What are your future goals and aspirations in the field of aviation?
-My goal in this field is first to be an impeccable and super professional pilot, who is recognized for being Venezuelan and humble above all. also have my businesses within aviation. And finally, in the future, being that American Airlines captain, as I saw since I was a child was something unattainable, today I see it as super possible and very close to me.
