How Nick Edwards Turned Struggle Into Strength With My Leadership Coach

When Nick Edwards launched My Leadership Coach, he wasn’t riding a wave of hype. He was fighting through resistance.

“I watched leaders with big dreams but no clear framework achieve less than desirable results,” he says. “I knew there had to be a better way.”

His mission: give leaders the clarity, structure, and support they need to win—at work and at home.

Selling Himself Was the Hardest Part

The early days tested Edwards in ways he didn’t expect.

“The biggest challenge was marketing,” he says. “I had to convince people I could help, but it felt like I was marketing myself instead of a solution. That didn’t align with who I wanted to be.”

Instead of chasing quick wins, he leaned on authenticity, letting word-of-mouth and client results do the talking. Over time, trust became his brand.

When It Was Time to Go All In

Success didn’t hit overnight—but momentum did.

“Clients started referring me faster than I could onboard them,” he recalls. “I was still working full time. That’s when I set a date, quit my job, and went all in.”

The leap marked the beginning of exponential growth—and personal freedom.

His Playbook for Pushing Through

Edwards believes three principles define every successful entrepreneurial journey:

  • Define your destination. Clarity creates traction.
  • Get started. Motion beats perfection.
  • Don’t stop. Resistance is proof you’re on the right track.

“Success isn’t about avoiding difficulty—it’s about outlasting it,” he adds.

Ditching “Balance” for Presence

Burnout, Edwards says, comes from disconnection, not hard work.

“Work-life balance is a myth. The key is being fully present where you are,” he explains. “When you’re at work, be fully at work. When you’re at home, be fully at home.”

His personal strategy centers on learning something new every day, being selective with time and energy, and ensuring every interaction adds value.

What’s Next

Edwards is preparing to release his book Big Dream, Small Steps and launch the Leading Forward podcast in fall 2025. Both projects center on leadership through the lens of faith, highlighting how values-driven entrepreneurs achieve lasting success.
