Byrd’s career began with law enforcement in Auburn, Alabama, followed by military service in the National Guard. A failed entertainment business and a short-lived franchise venture didn’t stop him from trying again. Neither did a career setback while deployed to Afghanistan.
“I thought it was over for me,” he says. “But I realized I could either quit or grow.”
