Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruben Miguel.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My name is Ruben Miguel and I’m 37 years old. Former Military Police Sergeant with a combat tour to Iraq. Worked as a police officer for about 15 years until I decided to go into real estate!

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Got to the U.S when I was 12 years old. Came from Cuba on a raft and was sent to Guantanamo Bay for a year until I finally made it here. Come from a single mom who struggled to make ends meet. Ended up homeless for a year or so when I was 14 until we were able to find an abandoned house to stay in until we saved enough money to move.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialized in house flips! Started buying real estate in 2014 and since then I’ve flipped over 60 houses. I’ve been buying land and developing single family homes that sell from the low $400’s to the mid $750’s. I believe in doing business the right way. If you don’t guard your reputation as if it was gold, people won’t regard you as a trustworthy person. No one wants to do business with you unless they can trust you.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Finding success is easy. You just truly have to believe in yourself and never be afraid to jump in the deep end. “Toe dipping” is for people who don’t mind living an “ok” life. Never realizing that “great” is achievable. Jump in the deep end, even if you have to learn how to swim !

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is defined as freedom. The freedom to do with your time as you please. As a former police officer, I remember having to ask on the radio if I could use the bathroom. I will never again let anyone dictate how I spend my time. That is true success to me.

What’s next for you?

Real Estate has been the vessel to get me going on my destination. Flipping houses got me started and developing now has been exciting. I’d like to eventually get into the multi family space. Build and keep buildings.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

Connecting with me is easy! You can check me out on Instagram @crusadercapital. I’m Mr. Crusader there. I take people on my journey so they can learn along the way!
