From Dublin to Dunn: William Jason Johnson’s Journey to Building a Global Empire

William Jason Johnson is not your average entrepreneur. At 57, this father of five, husband to a Dublin-born Irishwoman, and U.S. Army veteran has turned a lifetime of experiences into a powerhouse portfolio of ventures spanning real estate, hospitality, and lifestyle branding. From the shores of South Florida to the quaint streets of Dunn, North Carolina, Johnson’s story is one of relentless drive, creative ingenuity, and a vision that goes far beyond profits.

A Story Rooted in Resilience and Vision

Johnson’s entrepreneurial journey began in childhood, growing up immersed in his family’s retirement home business. By 18, he had witnessed more life — and death — than most see in several lifetimes. This early exposure to responsibility and self-sufficiency shaped his work ethic.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Johnson ventured to South Florida, where he opened and sold a successful hair salon and spa. His journey then took a transatlantic turn when he moved to Ireland with his wife and built a thriving real estate investment company in North Dublin.

Fast forward to today, Johnson’s ventures are as diverse as they are ambitious. His 50-bed assisted living facility in Dunn serves the community while his real estate investments ensure stability. But it’s his latest projects — Gillian’s Irish Pub & Restaurant and the soon-to-launch BOSS-1 brand — that are capturing national attention.

The Rise of Gillian’s Irish Empire

In March 2024, Johnson opened Gillian’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, a tribute to his Irish roots. Just eight months later, it reached the $1 million revenue milestone, a testament to his keen business acumen. But Johnson isn’t stopping at one pub.

Currently renovating a new venture, Gillian’s Irish Inn & Gift Shop, Johnson plans to create an immersive Irish experience complete with a branded apparel line, merchandise, and his own Irish beverages: Gillian’s Irish Ale, Gillian’s Irish Whiskey, Irish Coffee, and Irish Tea. All trademarked, of course.

These ventures are more than businesses; they’re a legacy.

“I’m creating an entire ecosystem,” Johnson says. “It’s a spin-off of what will soon be a chain of Irish pubs, each carrying the soul of Ireland and the vibrancy of a global brand.”

Enter BOSS-1: The Vision for Global Impact

While Gillian’s Irish empire is flourishing, Johnson’s most profound endeavor may be BOSS-1, a lifestyle brand with a mission that transcends commerce. BOSS-1, an acronym for Bringing Opportunity, Saving Society, is centered around promoting global peace, eradicating poverty, and fostering education.

“BOSS-1 is the Creator,” Johnson explains. “The divine source of everything. The goal is to build a global network that uplifts the impoverished and dismantles ignorance and greed.”

The BOSS-1 product line, set to launch soon, includes apparel and merchandise that will be promoted by celebrities, musicians, and business leaders. Johnson envisions a future where the brand becomes a symbol of hope and change.

“Imagine a young boy in Africa, wearing a BOSS-1 cap while digging a well, smiling as he points to the sky,” Johnson says. “That’s the impact we’re aiming for.”

Challenges and the Mindset of a Visionary

Despite his success, Johnson is no stranger to challenges. From witnessing the hardships of running a family business to navigating a global move, he’s faced his share of hurdles. But his discipline, honed in the U.S. Army, and his unwavering passion have kept him moving forward.

“Stop being lazy,” Johnson advises aspiring entrepreneurs. “Discipline is everything. Get up every day and do what you don’t feel like doing. That’s the only path to success.”

For Johnson, retirement is not an option.

“I tried it, and I almost went insane,” he laughs. “I need to create. I’m a builder and a designer at heart.”

A Future Built on Faith and Ambition

Looking ahead, Johnson’s plans are as expansive as his imagination. From globalizing the BOSS-1 brand to expanding the Gillian’s Irish concept, he’s committed to leaving a legacy that inspires others.

“I’ve already had racing teams, musicians, and actors express interest in promoting BOSS-1,” Johnson shares. “Once people realize the deeper meaning — that it represents God, the ultimate Creator — it resonates universally. Who doesn’t want to be aligned with that?”

Through his ventures, Johnson is proving that big ideas require not only big money but also a profound commitment to purpose.

“Once this momentum starts, it can’t be stopped.”
