For six years, Kyle Robinson lived the dream of a professional athlete. Baseball was his life, his identity, and his purpose. But when injury led to surgery—and surgery led to addiction—his world unraveled.
Today, Robinson is the founder of Relentless Repetition, a brand built on the lessons he learned in both the game of baseball and the game of life.
When the Game Ends
Robinson’s battle with addiction began innocently, with prescription painkillers. It evolved into heroin and meth use that stripped him of everything he valued.
“I went from playing in stadiums to sleeping on the street,” he recalls. “I spent over a year in county jail. That was my wake-up call.”
On November 24, 2019, Robinson got sober—and vowed to rebuild.
“That day changed everything,” he says. “I knew I had survived for a reason.”
Turning Pain Into Purpose
Drawing from his athletic discipline, Robinson began shaping a philosophy that would become the backbone of his company: Relentless Repetition.
“In baseball, success is built on repetition—thousands of swings, throws, drills,” he explains. “Life and business are no different. You get good by doing the boring stuff over and over.”
That idea now drives his work as a speaker, helping entrepreneurs, athletes, and professionals adopt a mindset of consistent effort, no matter how small the progress may seem.
Lessons From the Field
Robinson’s story resonates because it’s authentic. He doesn’t shy away from discussing his mistakes or his time in jail. Instead, he uses those moments to illustrate resilience and growth.
“I had to learn how to fail forward,” he says. “Addiction was my biggest failure—but also my greatest teacher.”
He emphasizes that the same traits that make great athletes—discipline, routine, and grit—can be applied to business success.
Mentorship and Momentum
Robinson’s journey accelerated when he began connecting with other thought leaders like Paul Getter and Damon West.
“Those relationships gave me perspective,” he says. “They reminded me that no matter how far you’ve fallen, you can rebuild stronger.”
Building a Winning Team
Robinson envisions his company partnering with college and professional sports teams, leadership groups, and corporations to share his story and message.
“I want to reach people who are chasing excellence and remind them that every champion started as a beginner who didn’t quit.”
The Next Inning
For Robinson, the next inning of his life is about scale—expanding his brand, reaching more audiences, and helping others find purpose through pain.
“Failure isn’t the end,” he says. “It’s just the start of a new game plan.”
